Catch a Trade® Scholarship Program

The Catch a Trade® Scholarship Program was established to assist highly motivated Minnesota residents who have faced challenges in life and learned from them, and are now enrolling in post–secondary education. Scholarships are offered for full–time study at a public, accredited Minnesota State technical college/trade schools. We have 15 new scholarships available each year. All scholarships are renewable, up to $11,000 per year, up to two years.

Students must be enrolled in or accepted to a two-year program in:

• Carpentry
• Construction Management
• Electrical
• Facilities Maintenance
• HVAC/R
• Plumbing
• Welding

Applicants must:

• Be a Minnesota resident
• Demonstrate resilience by overcoming life challenges
• Show strong motivation to pursue a skilled trades career
• Have a high school GPA of at least 2.0
• Demonstrate financial need or significant difficulty paying for education

Application period: March 17 – June 30
