Lawrence and Christine Fischer Scholarship
For Saint Paul Public Schools graduates who have completed one semester with a minimum 2.5 GPA, with preference for Culinary Arts students. Established in honor of Lawrence and Christine Fischer, this scholarship celebrates their dedication to education and encourages students to pursue their goals through perseverance, learning, and service to others.
Impact
This scholarship honors Lawrence and Christine Fischer’s commitment to education, service, and student success. Chef Lawrence Fischer and Mrs. Christine Fischer both graduated from Saint Paul Public Schools (Harding High School and Highland High School, respectively) and went on to careers in education. Chef Fischer is a graduate of the Culinary Arts program at Saint Paul College and after working in the industry, he went back to Saint Paul College to teach Culinary Arts for 29 years. Mrs. Fischer worked at Humboldt Junior and Senior High Schools for 21 years, where she supported students and their families, including programs to help students who were the first in their family to attend college. Both Chef Fischer and Mrs. Fischer are examples of the opportunity created through the combination of education, hard work and dedication to one’s community. At the time of their retirement, their family established this scholarship to honor their commitment to education and to assist Saint Paul Public School graduates in continuing their studies at Saint Paul College.
