Lawrence and Christine Fischer Scholarship
Chef Lawrence Fischer and Mrs. Christine Fischer both graduated from Saint Paul Public Schools (Harding High School and Highland High School, respectively) and went on to careers in education. Chef Fischer is a graduate of the Culinary Arts program at Saint Paul College and after working in the industry, he went back to Saint
Paul College to teach Culinary Arts for 29 years. Mrs. Fischer worked at Humboldt Junior and Senior High Schools for 21 years, where she supported students and their families, including programs to help students who were the first in their family to attend college. Both Chef Fischer and Mrs. Fischer are examples of the opportunity created through the combination of education, hard work and dedication to one’s community. At the time of their retirements, their family established this scholarship to honor their commitment to education and to assist Saint Paul Public School graduates in continuing their studies at Saint Paul College.
This scholarship supports a student who has completed one semester with a minimum 2.5 GPA, financial need, and be a graduate of Saint Paul Public Schools. Preference to Culinary Arts students.
